Amy Sharma shares her experiences (good, bad and funny) in Australia with her husband and baby daughter. Due to her husband’s temporary work assignment, Amy recently spent a year in Perth, Western Australia. She picked up with her husband and 9-month-old daughter and moved to the opposite side of the world with nothing more than 8 suitcases and a 2-week reservation in a temporary apartment. The transition was bumpy, because while Australia may be similar to the US, it is also incredibly unique. Amy will share her experiences and lessons learned from navigating a new culture, finding a job as a professor, and volunteering with the Australian Computer Science Foundation. She’ll also explain why Vegemite is underrated, and what a posty is.
