Indian MST Radar: A mile stone in the development of Radar Technology

Bldg: E&ECE Department, NKN Room, IIT Kharagpur, Kharagpur, West Bengal, India

Unlike the design of Strategic Radars, which detects point targets, the design of Atmospheric Radars is very complex. These Radars deal with distributed targets with minimal back scattering (RCS). A VHF Mesosphere Stratosphere Troposphere (MST) Radar, having very high power aperture product (Figure of Merit) was designed, developed, installed and commissioned indigenously for ISRO/DOS, which is being operated over last 30 years. Design/developmental details of this Radar will be discussed in the interactive lecture. Co-sponsored by: IEEE AP-MTTS SBC IIT Kharagpur Speaker(s): K. P.
